Godiva Group practice is set up for the electronic prescription service.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service that allows your prescriptions to be sent directly to your chosen pharmacy, without needing a paper copy from your GP.
What does this mean for you?
- No need to collect paper prescriptions – Your GP can send prescriptions directly to your chosen pharmacy electronically.
- Save time – Your prescription can be ready for collection before you arrive.
- More choice – You can choose a pharmacy near where you live, work, or shop.
Is EPS right for you?
EPS may be a good option if:
- You have a stable condition.
- You regularly receive repeat prescriptions.
- You usually collect your medication from the same pharmacy.
- You want to save time and avoid unnecessary trips to the practice.
EPS may not be suitable if:
- You collect your medicines from different places.
How to start using EPS
You’ll need to nominate a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to receive your prescriptions electronically. You can choose:
- A local pharmacy
- A dispensing appliance contractor (if applicable)
How to nominate:
Speak to our reception, we can set it up for you. You don’t need access to a computer to do this.
Can I change or cancel my nomination?
Yes, at any time.
If you want to change your nominated pharmacy or go back to paper prescriptions, simply speak to our reception team. Just make sure you do this before your next prescription is due.
Is EPS secure and confidential?
Yes. Your prescription information is sent through a secure NHS system and is only seen by:
- Your GP
- Your nominated pharmacy or dispenser
- NHS staff involved in prescription processing and payment
Your data is handled with the same level of confidentiality as paper prescriptions.
